Mayor Jerry Hawkins

Key Responsibilities:

The mayor is responsible for the overall operation of city government. The term of office is four years, and the office is not subject to term limits. Duties of the mayor include:

• enforcing the ordinances of the city and the statutes of the state
• providing the statement of the finances and general condition of the city to the common council
• ensuring efficient government of the city
• preparing the city budget for council review
