Redevelopment Commission
Redevelopment in the city is governed by a five member commission - three of the five members are appointed by the mayor, two members are appointed by the city council. Commission members serve a one year term and may be appointed to successive terms.

Key Responsibilities:
The Redevelopment Commission is charged with undertaking the redevelopment of Clinton by eliminating blight and revitalizing the community. An area needing redevelopment is defined as an area in which normal development and occupancy are undesirable or impossible because of:
- lack of development,
- cessation of growth,
- deterioration of improvements,
- character of occupancy,
- age,
- obsolescence,
- substandard buildings,
- other factors that impair values or prevent a normal use or development of property.
